Kat Stays Polished | Beauty Blog with a Dash of Life: Urban Decay Electric Palette

Urban Decay Electric Palette

Hey guys! I have finally settled in [for the most part] to my new house! I swatched my Urban Decay Electric Palette as soon as I got it at the release but I had no time at all to post it for you. I have only been able to get ONE look out of this [yesterday] as I'm still getting my makeup and beauty room in order but I at least want to show you what this looks like on my skin tone.

As soon as I saw that Urban Decay was coming out with this palette, I knew I had to get it. It's got the most exciting, bright colors you could ask for and the quality of them are fantastic! All of them are soft, silky, and smooth. For the most part, the color payoff is fabulous. I only had issues with a few of them but overall, LOVE this palette! Check out my swatches below! All of them are over UD Primer Potion.

As I'm sure you've already seen, this is the disclaimer on the back of the packaging: "WARNING: Slowburn, Savage, Jilted, and Urban are not intended for use around the immediate eye area."

Alright, so these two colors, for me, were the ones with the least color payoff but still looks really pretty. I have the Anarchy Face Case so I knew what Revolt was going to look like. I wanted Gonzo to be this super, pow, in-your-face blue and it just wasn't for me. I'm sure it looks great blended into the other colors but alone it is no bueno.

So, even though these aren't intended for the immediate eye area, I think the color payoff is just fantastic! These are colors that you could easily use in your crease and outer corner. The formula is so smooth and soft - application will be a breeze and they'll blend in nicely for your desired look.

Chaos is beautiful and Jilted is not intended for the immediate eye area. I see these two colors being used together with Jilted being a crease transition color. Both of these swatched smoothly on my arm and the color is just fantastic.

Urban is the last color on the disclaimer warning. I love this color because of the dimension it gives off when swatched. Freak isn't as bright as I thought it would be but that may just be because it's on my arm, not my eye. I promise I'll do some sort of look with this palette soon! Keep a close watch on my Instagram for FOTD selfies!

These last 2 look nothing like I thought they would...but again, these are arm swatches on my tan skin. I bet they'll look way different on my eyes.

So, what color combos would you like to see me try? I've been experimenting with my makeup palettes a lot lately so I'll try anything as long as it's mostly appropriate for work. Check out the look I did yesterday. I wanted something that popped because we went and played laser tag for my friend's birthday. It looked WAY brighter in person. I LOVED the way this turned out. Check out my Instagram post for a lits of all the makeup I used.

If you still don't have this palette and want it, go get it from your local Sephora or Ulta or even on the Urban Decay site! It's definitely worth every penny, especially if you don't already have brightly colored palettes!

  4. Great look! I don't get the warning about half of the shades not for use in the immediate eye area. So what are you supposed to do with them? Face paint, lol?

    1. Haha, Allison, I used it in my crease and outer corners. I didn't use it directly on my lids, although, it IS approved in other countries. IDK, I may use it anyway and just be really careful. I'm sure it'll be fine.
