May Ipsy Glam Bag - My Very First One!

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Hey guys! Look! It's my FIRST EVER Ipsy bag! For months I had been going back and forth deciding if I should get a beauty subscription box...and then if I did, which one -- Ipsy or Birchbox?

After asking some people on Facebook, I decided to go with Ipsy.

Below is everything I got in this bag. The Urban Decay Moondust was a bonus item -- YAY for that! Everything that has a price was received as a full sized item or an item that can be purchased from the company's website in that size. Here is a breakdown of MSRP/value:

  • Zoya polish: $8
  • NuMe Finishing Serum: 10ml Trial size
  • Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss: $15
  • Pacifica roll on fragrance: $12
  • Yaby concealer: $5
  • Urban Decay Moondust: $20
So, I received over $60 worth of goodies for just $10! I can't even believe it! Without the bonus Moondust, that's still $40 for all the items.

The Zoya polish I got in my bag was Piaf. It's a lovely color [ha! see what I did there?] but I would never wear it on its own. I was hoping that they'd throw in Blu for me as I've been lusting for it ever since it came out. I'd probably use this in my nail art or as an accent for another mani. It worked well with just 2 coats!

The NuMe Finishing Serum will definitely come in handy. Since I've started trying to style my hair [flat iron], and even just with my regular blow drying, I've been wanting something to keep my hair sleek and shiny. We'll see how this does with my hair!

Here is my juice Beauty Reflecting gloss! I thought it smelled delicious, and although the formula is a bit thick, I know it will stick to my lips for a while. This is also a perfect pink color for me. Not too girly and sheer enough for every day use.

Tahitian Gardenia. Mmmmmm, it smells so fresh! You don't need much of this as it is super potent. Just a few glides on the wrist and up by your neck and you're set!

At first glance this seems like too light of a concealer, but that's just on my hand. I'll have to try it out and see if it blends in or not. If not, hey, that's okay! I don't see it as a waste as I'm very happy with the rest of my items this month.

Finally, Stargazer. My moondust eyeshadow! Also, WOW at being $20 retail! If I ever go out, I'll definitely be sporting this color. Since I have it, I'll use it. I can't say that I'd buy this at the store on my own...unless of course I had gift cards and coupons! I'd really love to check out the other colors in this collection.

  1. Great bag! I have yet to order any subscription boxes and probably won't for a while since I'm not a huge fan of samples right now. Even though your bag had a lot of full size items :)

    1. Lisa, I totally know what you mean, but after this one, I am SO convinced it's worth it. It seems more worth it to me tha Birchbox where I've seen WAY too many sample sizes and not enough FULL sized products. The items in this month's Ipsy bag will last me forever! =)

  3. What a great bag! I actually love Piaf, it's got this cool jolie laide thing about it. The perfume sounds lovely and I hope it works for you. Gardenia was my favorite scent when I was a little girl, but now it smells kind of plasticky on me, even the really good stuff.

    1. I'll be wearing the gardenia probably every once in a while. I'm more into the fruity scents nowadays. Piaf might grow on me, but it's definitely not my favorite of the Lovely collection.
