Zoya Petals 2016Thursday, March 10, 2016
It's almost the weekend!!! Who else needs it to be the weekend already? Today I have the very gorgeous Petals collection from Zoya. This Spring collection is absolutely gorgeous and pretty much stays away from your typical pastel shades, which I know some people are getting tired of year after year. This fun collection is made up of 6 gorgeous flower shades, each with just a little bit of shimmer, some have a little bit more than others. Keep reading for swatches and my thoughts.
This first shade is Laurel. It is a soft pink shade with a hint of shimmer. If you look closely at the bottle, you can see it sticking. On the nail, it's very subtle but in sunlight, it is so gorgeous! Shown is 2 coats and top coat. The formula was smooth and I had no application issues.
Tulip - this is such an appropriate name. This peachy shade performs just like Laurel and again, has that hint of shimmer in it. my mom would absolutely love this color. I may have to give her a mani with it. Again, 2 coats and no application issues.
So now we're getting into the shades with a lot more shimmer. This one is called Zahara and it's described as a shimmering coral color. I applied just 2 coats of this shade and I'm quite pleased with it. It's a bit sheer as you can see the visible nail line, but I don't mind it so much. One more coat would cover that right up.
Azalea is a bright and shimmery fuchsia shade and I love it. The shimmer in this is amazing and the coverage is incredible. This is 2 coats and unlike Zahara, it totally covers your nail.
My absolute favorite in this collection is Aster. This is a gorgeous lilac/periwinkle shade with amazing white shimmer throughout. Shown is 2 coats and there is complete coverage. I could stare at this shade all day.
The last shade in this collection is Leia, which you probably saw earlier this week when I posted about the Reem Acra Trio I got. I applied just one coat of Leia over Aster and it's amazing. I am going to start layering Leia over pastels all season long, haha. I also included plain swatches of Leia below.
Which shade from this collection is your favorite? I simply LOVE the entire collection but I could use another 5 bottles of Aster.
