Kat Stays Polished | Beauty Blog with a Dash of Life: Product Review: L.A. Girl Sand Blast

Product Review: L.A. Girl Sand Blast

Monday, May 20, 2013

Hey all! Today I have for you two colors from the L.A. Girl Sand Blast collection. If you're familiar with the textured polish craze, you know that a lot of them are glitter based. These two colors I'll be showing you are a solid cream.

The texture in these comes from sugar-like crystals in the polish that basically dry clear. You're then left with a beautiful creamy-textured finish. Almost sounds like an oxymoron, huh?

First up is Sandals, a gorgeous hot pink cream. This is perfect for summer and with a name like Sandals, well, you better be sporting some warm weather looks!

I applied two thin and even coats over a base coat [OPI Nail Envy]. My recommendation is that you let each layer dry completely [about 10 minutes] before moving on. This way, you don't risk smooshing or smudging the polish on your nails.

The texture on these isn't too rough and I actually quite enjoy having a creamy, non-glitter textured look. It's different in a totally good way.

Removal: These are easier to remove than the glitter texture polishes. They remove as easily as normal cream polishes.

Next is Sand Dune. This is a cinnamon red color that's sure to get your juices flowing! The application for this one was the same as Sandals. Because it's a slightly darker color, the opacity is much greater...still a 2-coater though.
