Voloom Hair Volumizing Iron

Sunday, November 16, 2014

Hey all! Tonight I have a new type of hair tool to show you. It's the Voloom Hair Volumizing Iron. My hair is so fine and flat that I always love to try new things to get some volume pumped into my hair. I figure this could be an easy way to do it.

It comes in a box like this. I love the packaging - it's so feminine but also super simple.

If you're not one to keep boxes to hair tools (like me) the kit comes with a carrying case. Along with the iron and the case, there is a brush/hair separator and 3 clips to help you pin back the layers of hair.

Here is my sad, flat-haired before picture.

I started by pinning the top layer of hair away to one side. This iron is meant to volumize the under layers of hair to give you that extra bump.

According to the instructions inside, people with fine, flat, or damaged hair should set their iron between 320 and 350. I chose 330. This thing heated up QUICK! Like...less than a minute! That is one perk I absolutely love about this tool. I hate having to wait for things to heat up!

The iron looks like a crimper. This is the first section of hair that I did. According to the instructions, they say to do more more than halfway down your cheek. I did about 3 iron-sections down.

After a few more sections and layers of hair, can you tell which side has been volumized?

Here is both sides done. You can most definitely tell the difference. The crimp marks DO fade out after brushing and cooling down. Honestly though, some days I think I might actually want some wavy and crimped hair. Remember those days?

Overall, this product has really amazed me. From the time it took me to heat up the iron to actually having my entire head done...it was less than 10 minutes total. I have NEVER been able to do a look like this in that short amount of time. Normally, anything having to do with a hot hair tool takes about 15 minutes for just one side. What do y'all think?
