NYC New York Color City Samba Nail ColorFriday, July 04, 2014
Hello! Today will not be a 4th of July post but it will definitely be summer related! Today i have 6 of the 8 polishes in the NYC New York Color City Samba Collection. The City Samba Collection is more than just polish though so keep an eye out for a few more posts! I am seriously loving everyone's bright summer shades. For this and all of the polishes at least 2 coats were used. Though they are fast-dry polishes, they are not one-coaters. All of them had a pretty good formula and I am pleased with the results. Let's take a look at these 6, shall we?
Carnival Red is up first. It looks almost jelly-like in this pic but it's definitely very creamy. I think I have enough reds to last me a lifetime but I still love how this one looks on my nails.
Tropicoral is one of my favorites from this collection. I love coral shades because they aren't quite pink but still girly enough. Obviously I'd love to pair this with a minty shade. Who doesn't love those two colors together?
Melons! Sweet Melons, that is! How perfect is this name for this color? Want to know the first thing that comes to mind? Those Jelly Belly jelly beans that taste like melon. Simply in love with this color!
I admit...I giggled a little bit when I saw the name of this next shade - Copabanana! Seriously?! Get out of town! I like this because it has a very subtle shimmer to it. You can't fully tell on the nail but if you look at the bottle carefully, you can see it in there. I used 3 thin coats for this to make sure I didn't have any streaks. Looks good to me!
Amazon Green is sort of a minty shade. It leans towards the metallic side which is fine, but I'd kinda prefer it to be like Copabanana. Sometimes it's inevitable to get brush strokes and I think this is one of times but I DO love the color.
Last up is Jacaranda Flower. Yes, this one applied the BEST out of all 6 shades I tried. Again...what's up with all of the fantastic purple shades? Maybe it has something to do with the color of the year!
